How is Porcelain Veneer Made?
First, the teeth to be treated are cleaned. Then, the necessary thinning is done on the tooth so that the veneer can fully settle. This thinning process usually varies between 0.5 mm and 0.7 mm.
After the tooth thinning process comes the mold removal process. This process is done in two different ways. The first is molding with classical methods, and the second is three-dimensional imaging technology. The molds and images obtained are sent to the laboratory with the desired dimensions and the production phase of the coating begins. Until the porcelain veneer is ready, temporary veneers are made so that the patient can use their teeth comfortably and the teeth are not damaged. After the porcelain veneers come to the dentist, the dentist rehearses the veneers by placing the veneers in the patient's mouth. After the rehearsals, the veneers go back to the laboratory for polishing. Porcelain veneers, which come from the laboratory with their final state, are passed on to the teeth with a special adhesive, and the process is completed.
In Which Situations Is Porcelain Coating Applied?
1.Crowded teeth (mild and moderately crooked)
2.In case of missing teeth
3.In caries types that cannot be treated with normal fillings
4.In obvious tooth fractures
5.For aesthetic purposes
Patients who have problems with these conditions decide together after the examination of the dentist to have porcelain veneers.
