Wondering About 20 Years Tooth Extraction
There are two options for extraction of wisdom teeth. In some patients, it can be pulled normally, while in some patients, a surgical operation may be required. To determine the extraction method of the tooth, tomography or x-ray is used and then the tooth is extracted with the determined method. Local anesthesia is applied so that the patient does not feel pain.

Wisdom teeth are usually buried because they are covered with gingival or bone. In some cases, the teeth can put pressure on the molars in front of them and damage them. For this reason, the patient may feel pain and the patient's front teeth may be crooked due to the pressure on the teeth.

The fact that a part of the wisdom tooth is covered with gingiva sometimes causes infection. As a result of the infection, facial swelling, redness in that area, odor and difficulty in opening the chin may occur. As a result of repeated infections, the bone there begins to melt and inflamed tissue forms instead of the melted bone. After the extraction of wisdom teeth, facial swelling and pain may occur due to the bone tissue around the teeth.

Information About Impacted Tooth
The teeth are surrounded by gingiva and bone. When the teeth begin to erupt, they first pass the bone structure and then the gingiva. Some teeth can pass both tissues, but some teeth cannot pass the bone structure and pass the gum tissue and remain under the tissue or tissues. Teeth in such cases are called impacted teeth.

Do All 20-Year-Old Teeth Need to be Extracted?
If the impacted teeth do not cause any problems to the person or do not harm other teeth, they do not need to be extracted. However, if the wisdom tooth is damaged due to caries or fracture and it cannot be treated with filling, root canal treatment, veneer or other treatment methods, it must be removed from the mouth in some way. Wisdom teeth need to be checked regularly because these teeth that are not extracted on time can cause crooked teeth, inflammation of the teeth and also damage the tooth in front of them.

What is Surgical Tooth Extraction?
Surgical procedure may cause fear in patients, but it is not something to be afraid of. This type of extraction is used in cases where the tooth is not easily seen in the mouth, the gingival border is broken, and the tooth is impacted. As in standard tooth extraction, surgical tooth extraction is performed under local anesthesia.

What Should Be Done After 20 Years Tooth Extraction?

  • Physician recommendations must be followed. The following should be applied under normal conditions, but the physician may change the recommendations according to the shooting situation.
  • The tampon placed by the dentist on the tooth extraction area should be held by biting tightly for an average of 30 minutes in order to stop the bleeding. If the bleeding stops, the tampon should be discarded. The patient should not spit or bleeding may continue.
  • If the physician has recommended the use of ice, it should be used as recommended. Keeping ice in the same area all the time can cause ice burns. The ice block should be removed at intervals of 5 seconds and placed on the cheek area again, and it should be continued until the ice block melts. Depending on the size of the surgical procedure, the application should be continued every 30 minutes. This should be repeated several times.
  • No food should be consumed for 2 hours after tooth extraction. Care should be taken to ensure that the foods consumed after 2 hours are warm and soft.
  • During the 48 hours after the procedure, avoid very hot foods and beverages, as well as alcohol and acidic beverages. Care should be taken not to use this area during the same period.
  • No smoking within 48 hours after the shooting.
  • The extraction area should be kept clean.
  • The mouth should not be rinsed as it will cause the clot in the extraction area to break off, otherwise the process may be painful.
  • It is recommended to sleep with a higher pillow for the first night in difficult 20-year-old tooth extractions.
  • Medications recommended by the physician should be used regularly.
  • After 24 hours, you can gargle with warm salt.
  • The tooth extraction area should not be touched, the wound should not be sucked.
  • It should be tried to prevent food residues from filling into the wound. Grainy foods such as bulgur, rice and bagel sesame should not be eaten until the extraction site has healed. After 24 hours, the teeth should be brushed with slow movements using a soft toothbrush.
